Wesley Snipes denied appeal

Looks like actor Wesley Snipes will be spending more time in prison than he would have liked. His three-year prison sentence will continue as the Supreme Court of the United States denied him appeal on Monday.

Wesley, who is best known for his roles in Bladetrilogy and White Man Can’t Jump, began his prison stay in December after he was convicted for failure to file income tax returns for 1999, 2000, and 2001.

The actor said his constitutional rights were violated because he was denied an evidentiary hearing to explain why he preferred to be tried in his home state of New York as opposed to Florida, where he holds a driver’s license.

Although Wesley claims he was mislead by tax advisors, the Supreme Court shut down the appeal to have his charges overturned.

Wesley will continue serving time at a federal prison in Pennsylvania until his release date in 2013.
